Chicago’s Famous Hot Tub Boats Are Officially Back. Here’s How Much It Costs To Rent One.

Just when you thought Chicago couldn’t get any crazier, one of the city’s most talked-about winter adventures is making its return.

Forget shivering on a rooftop bar—imagine floating between skyscrapers, warm and cozy in a bubbling hot tub with a drink in your hand.

It’s real, and the Chicago Boat Company is bringing their viral fleet of hot tub boats back to the river starting this November.

So, What’s the Deal with These Things?

It’s pretty much exactly what it sounds like: a boat that’s also a fully functioning hot tub.

You cruise down the Chicago River, taking in the world-class architecture, all while staying perfectly warm in the steaming water.

Each boat fits about five people, comes with a Bluetooth speaker for your own playlist, and has floating cup holders for your drinks.

Best part? It’s BYOB.

You can bring your own beer, wine, or whatever else you’re feeling.

Pro tip: just make sure you don’t bring any glass bottles.

The Big Question: How Much Does It Cost?

Okay, let’s get right to it.

A 90-minute cruise isn’t as expensive as you might think.

Rates start at $60 a person. That’s cheaper than a lot of fancy brunches, and way more memorable.

How to Book Your Trip

Bookings are officially open for trips running from November all the way through March 2026.

They hit the water every week from Wednesday to Sunday, giving you plenty of chances to hop in.

This is one of those “bucket list” Chicago experiences, and spots tend to fill up fast, especially on weekends.

You can check availability and lock in your spot on their official website right here.
